Fatih Ozmen
Fatih Ozmen is a visionary and lifelong innovator dedicated to delivering critical national security solutions and driving innovation that strengthens the U.S. industrial base. Together with his wife and business partner Eren Ozmen, he is a driving force behind their Sierra enterprise including Sierra Nevada Company (SNC) and Sierra Space.
Fatih’s unwavering commitment to advancing American leadership in defense technology, space and innovation is rooted in a belief that thoughtful disruption can solve the nation’s toughest challenges. He is passionate about expanding the industrial base through open architecture solutions that foster competition, unlock innovation and deliver greater capability and speed for the warfighter.
Known as a creative thinker and problem solver, Fatih applies broad technical expertise and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking to SNC’s most complex engineering challenges. Today, as CEO, he leads SNC’s technology, engineering and strategic vision with a focus on innovation, agility and speed. Together, Fatih and Eren transformed SNC from a small company with just 20 employees into a multi-billion-dollar global leader in aerospace and defense.
SNC supports some of America’s most critical national security missions, including the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) and the U.S. Army’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES), landmark programs made possible by the Ozmens long-term strategic vision and growth plans.
In 2021, Eren and Fatih launched Sierra Space as an independent commercial space company which was spun off from SNC’s space capabilities. Sierra Space builds mission-proven defense technologies including satellites and Dream Chaser®, the world’s only spaceplane capable of runway landings. Dream Chaser will revolutionize space capabilities and support critical national security space requirements as a national space asset.
Beyond business, Fatih and Eren are committed to creating opportunities for future generations. Through the Ozmen Family Office, they support a variety of causes, including education, STEM initiatives and veterans. They also established the Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship, the Aerospace and Defense Academy and the Ozmen Institute for Global Studies at their alma mater, UNR.
