The U.S. Army has selected SNC’s Degraded Visual Environment Pilotage System (DVEPS) for integration into the autonomous H-60Mx Optimally Piloted Vehicle Black Hawk. By combining lidar and infrared sensing into a real-time 3D environmental model, DVEPS will provide the aircraft with advanced machine perception capabilities for operating in dust, fog, smoke, darkness, and other degraded visual conditions, supporting the Army’s vision for scalable rotorcraft autonomy.
