SPARKS, Nev. (Sept. 9, 2025) – SNC, the global aerospace and national security company, recently received the second Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft for the U.S. Army’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES) program of record. Selected as the Lead Systems Integrator, SNC will modify the Army’s aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) jets into fully functional HADES prototypes.
“We are proud to continue this partnership with the PEO Aviation Fixed Wing Project Office to develop and deliver this critical capability to Army aviation,” said Josh Walsh, vice president of programs. “SNC is leveraging hundreds of thousands of hours of design and integration experience to deliver the kind of mission-specific solution that will give our soldiers the tactical advantage they need in today’s near-peer environment.”
HADES prototypes are critical for reducing program risk and maturing key technologies, including a modular open systems approach (MOSA). Using government-furnished Bombardier Global 6500 jets, the HADES prototypes will be the first Army-owned, large-cabin business jets utilized as aerial ISR platforms. The primary purpose of the aircraft is to provide advanced, deep-sensing capabilities for multi-domain operations against peer and near-peer adversaries. This system will give the Army enhanced and persistent deep sensing capabilities – flying higher, faster and farther.
Many of SNC’s signature design and integration capabilities, to include AI/ML, are incorporated into the HADES system, empowering mission processing, exploitation and dissemination to more quickly facilitate all-domain awareness. SNC’s solution was designed using model-based systems engineering (MBSE), significantly reducing the time required to integrate new and different systems and capabilities when needed. It can be easily reconfigured for specific mission purposes without aircraft redesign, and SNC’s strong open architecture backbone approach maximizes capability and schedules.
"SNC’s HADES solution emphasizes rapid configurability, allowing the aircraft to be swiftly tailored to meet specific reconnaissance mission requirements,” said Tim Harper, vice president of business development. “This capability ensures that the HADES jets can be deployed anywhere in the world within 24 hours’ notice, providing transformational improvements in speed, range, payload and endurance for the Army’s aerial ISR collection efforts."
With more than 60 years of experience in aircraft modification and integration, SNC’s expert engineering and maintenance teams will perform work on this contract from its facilities in Maryland. SNC will support the Army with aircraft modification, delivery and ongoing government-owned, contractor-operated (GOCO) services, including flight and maintenance operations and logistics support.
