Enhanced Special Mission Operations

Enhanced Special Mission Operations

Our MEK provides customers with greater mission capabilities, diversified basing options, increased aircraft performance and safety. SNC’s King Air modifications and systems integrations increase the aircraft’s time aloft and allow for increased operating weight without greater take-off risk. It also enables operations on shorter runways, making the aircraft more suitable for a wider variety of multi-mission and special operations environments.

Nose Extension & EO/IR Lift

SNC’s Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the King Air series nose extension includes a 3-foot structural modification, allowing for the installation of an electromechanical lift mechanism and mount for a commercial 15-inch, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor or similar size device.

This modification allows the sensor to be deployed and retracted in flight without altering the aircraft’s flight characteristics. The retractable sensor provides the aircraft and sensor package with a low-visibility profile.

Integral Antenna Winglet

Integral Antenna Winglet

Radio communications are paramount for mission success in any scenario. Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft are heavily loaded with a multitude of U/VHF/L antennas that may interfere with general communications.

Our Integral Antenna Winglet for a King Air 350 aircraft solves this challenge by placing the antennas in the winglets of the aircraft, giving them maximum distance from antennas on the fuselage and optimizing the integrity of the signal.

BLOS Broadband High-Gain SATCOM

Our satellite communications (SATCOM) system is an integrated solution providing a constant and reliable en route and out route transmission of critical, real-time information to support any airborne mission or special missions. SNC's Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for both upper and lower radome systems is an integrated solution providing installation kits for numerous ISR radars and sensors onto the Beechcraft King Air 300 series aircraft.

KA-350ER Global Xpress Satellite Terminal

KA-350ER Global Xpress Satellite Terminal

SNC is uniquely qualified to perform satellite terminal installations for Inmarsat Global Xpress (GX) with exclusive rights to the STC, mature engineering data and trained technicians. This capability provides high-performance, reliable and affordable airborne satellite communications to maintain real-time digital communications with mission partners and disseminate perishable intelligence. This functionality combined with the unique GX subscription-based satellite service increases capability while reducing costs by approximately $2M over five years.
