Sparks, Nev., March 28, 2014 – The Marine Corps Systems Command awarded Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) one of two firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts for the counter radio-controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Electronic Warfare, Marine Expeditionary Unit, Special Operation Capable (CREW MEU SOC) dismounted systems. SNC will deliver five initial production systems in accordance with the contract’s terms and requirements.
“The CREW MEU SOC system will provide increased flexibility and CREW capabilities to our forces to counter the threat posed by IEDs during future world-wide deployments and operations,” said Paul Plemmons, corporate vice president of Electronic Warfare and Range Instrumentation (EWR)at SNC. “We are confident that EWR’s CREW capability will be the most effective, yet best value solution for our nation’s troops.”
During the 60-month contract ordering period, SNC will have the opportunity to compete for orders of up to 360 production systems. SNC will perform work in Sparks, Nev., and Folsom, Calif., and is expected to be completed in February 2019.
