Sierra Nevada Corporation Aviation Expertise and Capabilities Recognized with GSA’s ASTRO Contract

SPARKS, Nev., October 26, 2021 – Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security company owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, was selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) for the ASTRO master contract to research, develop, maintain, support and operate manned and unmanned platforms and robotics systems.

Sponsored by the Department of Defense (DOD) and managed by GSA’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM), the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract covers work for the operation and maintenance of robotics and unmanned systems, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms.

SNC has nearly 60 years of expertise in aviation innovation, modernization and integration as well as aeronautics technical and maintenance support. The company provides global ISR aircraft lifecycle support – designing, developing and delivering rugged hardware and open architecture software for aerial ISR solutions for manned and unmanned aircraft, as well as manned/unmanned teaming efforts.

Administered through GSA’s FEDSIM, the ASTRO contract focuses on providing innovative, future technology, products, solutions and capabilities to the DOD across all domains, including land, air and sea. The contract has a potential value in the multi-billions with no defined ceiling value and a 10-year ordering period.
