Luke Thompson is Chief Operating Officer of SNC, responsible for overseeing enterprise operations and ensuring organizational alignment to deliver superior results. Luke’s focus is on growing our industry-leading team to innovate at scale, while retaining the customer-focused agility that SNC is known for. Under his leadership, SNC is advancing operational excellence to deliver capabilities which meet rapidly evolving customer needs.

Luke joined SNC in 2016 and has been a key member of the senior leadership team through SNC’s growth since then, having served in multiple roles along the way. Before becoming COO, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Operations for SNC’s ISR, Aviation & Security business area, where he performed similar duties for a segment of the company and two subsidiaries. Prior to that, he held roles as Business Unit Vice President focused on advanced systems development and Vice President Engineering, having joined the company initially to lead the development of a clean sheet aircraft.

Before joining SNC, Luke was Vice President of Program Management at BendixKing within Honeywell Aerospace, charged with reinvigorating a legacy brand through product development. Prior to that, he was Chief Engineer at Hawker Beechcraft where he led turnaround initiatives, and various new aircraft development programs. He spent his early career at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, having the opportunity to lead next-generation technology insertion for the 787 family, and as a Flight Test Engineer for an independent consulting firm prior to that. His broad industry experience and execution-minded leadership are instrumental as SNC continues to chart new territory.

Luke holds both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas. He is a certified flight instructor, commercially rated pilot and a co-inventor on multiple patent filings.
