DAYTON, Ohio (April 8, 2026) – SNC, the global leader in aerospace and national security, today cut the ribbon on the third and fourth maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hangars at its Dayton, Ohio, Aviation Innovation and Technology Center (AITC). This milestone underscores SNC’s unwavering commitment to advancing cutting-edge aviation technologies and supporting the nation’s most critical national security missions. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by prominent state and local officials, alongside senior military leaders, emphasizing the strategic importance of this latest expansion.
The AITC, strategically located at Dayton International Airport, serves as a cornerstone of SNC’s innovation-driven approach to industrial base modernization. As the first private-sector company to do MRO work on military aircraft in Dayton since the World War II era, the addition of these two new innovations centers at the AITC brings the total infrastructure footprint to approximately 440,000 square feet. The AITC can accommodate the largest aviation programs in the world as well as complex integration projects that are vital to national defense. These new innovation centers are designed to support the development, testing and sustainment of SNC’s advanced airborne systems, ensuring that the U.S. military and allied forces remain equipped with unparalleled capabilities.
"Today marks a proud moment for SNC and the Dayton community as we celebrate completion of phase 2 of our AITC master plan," said Mark Williams, SNC’s Dayton site executive. "This investment is about more than expanding our facilities; it’s a testament to the power of collaboration and the shared vision that drives innovation at SNC and here in Ohio."
"Today’s achievement is a direct result of our team’s relentless commitment to the mission and to excellence,” said Fatih Ozmen, CEO and Co-owner of SNC. “The AITC represents SNC’s promise to invest early, anticipate future needs and deliver next-generation capabilities that keep our nation and its warfighters one step ahead."
The AITC plays a pivotal role in SNC’s flagship programs, including the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC). With the addition of these two innovation centers, the AITC is poised to accelerate program milestones and ensure the seamless integration of secure communications systems into next-generation platforms.
This expansion further aligns with SNC’s vision of positioning the Dayton region as a global hub for aerospace innovation, while simultaneously driving economic growth by creating high-skill jobs and fostering workforce development in the region.
“The decision to go from zero to four hangars in just a few years says everything about the momentum SNC is building in Dayton,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “Ohio has worked hard to make sure sites, infrastructure and talent are ready, so when a company is looking to move quickly, Ohio is ready to move with it. This project will advance aerospace innovation for critical missions worldwide, bring hundreds of new jobs, and strengthen Ohio's role in fortifying our national defense.”
The opening of these state-of-the-art innovation centers underscores SNC’s proactive approach to anticipating and addressing customer needs. Equipped with advanced design, manufacturing and testing facilities, this phase of the AITC enables SNC to streamline production timelines, deliver high-quality solutions and maintain mission readiness for government and military partners.
In addition to bolstering national defense capabilities, SNC’s investment in the Dayton area reflects the company’s dedication to community engagement and regional development. By fostering partnerships with local institutions, such as Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and regional universities, SNC continues to cultivate a pipeline of engineering talent and drive progress across the aerospace sector.
