When the reborn National Space Council hosted an innovation panel at its first meeting last October, observers noted that all three companies invited to participate were led by self-made billionaires. You've probably heard of two of them -- Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. The third player, Sierra Nevada CEO Fatih Ozmen, may not be so familiar to you.
But he will be. Ozmen and his wife Eren are the sole owners of Sierra Nevada, a company that they have transformed since 1994 into a billion-dollar aerospace and defense contractor. Fatih's name surfaced again Tuesday, when he was listed as a candidate for the space council's newly-formed users' group -- a panel that will also include the CEOs of Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman....
