Dr. Russ H. has spent more than half his career at SNC, and is one of the original engineers of the Dream Chaser® spaceplane. He has been instrumental in the success of Dream Chaser leading the team through 17 wind tunnel campaigns and two full-scale flight tests.

Sierra Nevada Corporation once again supported the successful landing of a rover onto the Mars surface. SNC provided the descent brake mechanism and other critical technology for NASA’s Perseverance rover, marking the company’s 14th mission to the red planet.

SNC's LIFE™ habitat has a new addition. If you check out pictures below, it kind of looks like our Large Inflatable Fabric Environment habitat just got a Mohawk! But, it’s not a fashion statement. The meteorite shield was recently added to the habitat to provide further protection to the astronauts living inside. It serves as an impact absorption barrier for space debris and meteoroids.

This is the 14th Mars mission that SNC has supported through its critical parts and components, and on this historic mission SNC has eight mechanisms being used in 17 applications on the rover like the robotic arm, turret coring drill and caching assembly.
