  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent           
  • 14 years’ experience designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
  • Fundamental knowledge of Scripting languages,
  • Embedded software development (C/C++), and Embedded Linux
  • Team lead experience
  • Developed on GPUs       
  • Solid communication and presentation skills required to all levels of the organization           
  • Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and /or hardware components.
  • Ensures software standards are met.      
  • Security Clearance will be required in the future for continued employment
  • Developed and integrated SIGINT applications
  • Software Defined Radios (GNU Radio, REDHAWK, etc.)
  • Prior experience developing signal processing algorithm
  • Experience in radio interferometry
  • Signal processing / demodulation of signals

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will:

  • Learn about and become a subject matter expert in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and the missions they support
  • Use your signal processing experience and passion to design and develop SIGINT applications and services
  • Define and develop system control and data transport software for our servers and embedded processors
  • Work closely with algorithm designers, digital system builders and system engineers to create clean and modular interfaces
  • Work on development of systems from concept, through design and final acceptance testing
  • Work directly with the lead system engineer through the requirements, implementation, and integration and test development phases
  • Support peer reviews, bug tracking, and Configuration management (CM)
  • Create software development plans, requirements, design documents, and test plans
  • Troubleshoot software operating within an integrated system
  • Interact with customers to develop functional performance requirements and define user interfaces
  • Lead a team of SW engineers and contribute to technical leadership on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Travel to various locations to assist with system testing, attend Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and collaborate with customers and other SNC personnel


  • Works independently, and can lead a small team of engineers
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions 
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product software
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
  • Ensures software standards are met
  • Elicit, derive, and document software and/or system requirements to meet internal or external customer specifications
  • Define software/and or system architecture, design software modules, and produce associated documentation per corporate or customer standards
  • Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and/or hardware components
  • Ability to rapidly work with limited supervision on projects involving both small and large teams
