Join our team! SNC is currently seeking an experienced dynamic loads engineer to support our Dynamic Loads team as part of the Dream Chaser spacecraft program. Dream Chaser dynamic loads engineering includes the tasks required for the design, development, production, assembly, test, and certification efforts to deliver the completed Dream Chaser Space System. Some of the primary task areas include coupled loads analysis, transient analysis, vibroacoustics and finite element model development and correlation.

Support of inertial loads development for space vehicles. Substantial knowledge of coupled loads analysis and Craig-Bampton modeling.
Experience with transient time history analysis in developing associated forcing functions and loads.
Experience with system level spacecraft vibration analysis and testing.
Significant experience in finite element modeling and subsequent model correlation to test data.
Support the updating of Environmental Design Databook (EDD) and component Environment and Test Specifications.
Ability to decompose large complicated problems into manageable pieces, understand problems from different points of view, and ability to explain issues and solutions to other engineers.
Activities will be performed while contributing to the planning and execution of activities related to the integrated certification and verification for the loads and environments area.
Understand, plan and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, work instructions and specific customer requirements.
Engineer with strong background in aerospace and structural dynamics and 10+ years of experience
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or related engineering discipline
Experience with aerospace vehicle or satellite analysis and design
Significant experience with NASTRAN (NX or MSC) and FEMAP
Fluency with Matlab or Python
Strong interpersonal skills, position will require interfacing many engineers from a variety of disciplines
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Occasional presentations to program management and fellow engineers on the latest loads and environments.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
Master’s or PhD degree in engineering strongly desired.
Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic
Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
