The Planning & Scheduling Specialist reports to the Associate Manager of Program Finance and works in concert with the Program Planning and Cost Team. The Planning & Scheduling Specialist's primarily responsibilities include the development, maturation, and sustainment of Sierra Nevada Corporation's Program Planning and Scheduling system, process, tools and training."

As a Planning & Scheduling Analyst, you will provide scheduling process implementation support to ensure compliance with all government requirements. Focused responsibilities include the development of standard scheduling procedures and formats, and development and delivery of scheduling theory and tool training to support scheduling maturation.  You will also support the Program Finance leaders in fulfilling their responsibilities to ongoing cross department continuous improvement, problem solving, project implementation, training, and governance efforts.


  • Develop and provide Microsoft Project Professional and Scheduling best practice training to SNC project management teams
  • Support SNC internal schedule surveillance
  • Support Microsoft Project Professional user inquires and requests
  • Co-Lead the Planner and Scheduler process improvement meetings
  • Utilize schedule analytics methodologies to support the development of dashboards and other information tools
  • Develop and maintain SNC scheduling processes in alignment with industry best practices
  • Support Earned Value Management compliance and validation initiatives


  •  Business or related degree. Will consider relevant work experience in lieu of degree
  •  Experience in Microsoft Project Professional and familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and associated Tools (Deltek Cobra)
  •  Experience in the development and maintenance of resource loaded integrated master schedules to include detailed schedule analysis, health assessments, schedule risk assessments, and critical/driving path analysis
  •  Experience in identification and resolution of critical path/driving path conflicts; analysis of impacts to schedule of any proposed changes; facilitation of resource leveling; and validation of remaining work
  •  Ability to develop and recommend schedule management solutions
  •  Experience in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word
  •  Excellent communication skills; written, verbal & presentation


  • Experience in formal writing to include process development and documentation
  • Ability to work across multiple software systems and comprehend system relationships
  • Ability to develop and conduct relevant stakeholder learning sessions on topics such as scheduling best practices, tool usage, etc.
  • Foundational understanding of Program Management processes
  • Knowledge of DoD, government contracting and/or public auditing, policies, standards, and procedures
  • Support the development and delivery of key employee training to include new employee onboarding, continuous education curriculum, and certification testing
