Configuration Control Coordinator Specialist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Cultivates formal understanding of document control, configuration management and engineering drawing and documentation practices, formats, requirements and checking functions
  • Monitors configuration items to verify conformance to specifications, drawings, interface control documents, as defined with the configuration management plan
  • Records and reports information needed to manage configuration items effectively, including the status of proposed changes and implementation status of approved changes
  • Ensure design and technical data documentation is processed through the collaboration and CCB cycles using the electronic CM tool
  • Apply technical and administrative direction and surveillance over the life cycle of systems to identify and document the functional and physical characteristics of configuration items
  • Implement processes and procedures associated with Product Data Management (PDM) and a bill of materials (BOM) centric approach to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) structure development in support of engineering and manufacturing programs/product lines
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders in support of PDM/PLM tool implementation, user training, and data migration
  • Coordinate program activities designed to provide management, subcontractors, and customers with information on proposed and/or approved design changes
  • Implement processes and procedures for drawing and document checking/proofing functions
  • Implement departmental instructions described in division-specific work instructions
  • Assist with bid/proposal preparation and planning of each project’s configuration management, technical data and document control requirements

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma. Relevant work experience may substitute for required education.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and intra/internet environment is required
  • Experience reading engineering drawings, particularly in the aerospace or military industry and configuration management experience
  • Experience in configuration management position within a DOD manufacturing environment a plus
  • Experience with database management, AutoCAD, 3-D CAD modeling (SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, etc.) and MS Office and familiarity with associated tools a plus
  • Experience with ASME Y14 Standards, MIL-STD-31000, EIA-649B, AS9100 and/or CMMI highly preferred
  • CM certifications a plus
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance required
