PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate professional and a high-degree of technical competency in the field of aviation safety, mishap prevention, and accident investigation
  • Highly technical safety position requiring a very detail oriented individual who works well independently or in groups
  • Position requires a highly motivated self-starter willing to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Job requires oversight for all matters related to aviation and ground safety, occupational health, and environmental compliance
  • Must be able to plan, implement, and coordinate safety and environmental programs in accordance with written regulations, procedures, and policies
  • Must be able to identify safety and environmental hazards, risks, and promote the reduction or elimination of potentially hazardous conditions that may lead to accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and safety-related financial losses
  • Maintain hazardous material and hazardous waste compliance
  • Inspect facilities for OSHA, DCMA & SNC specific process/regulatory compliance
  • Provides instruction to work leaders and employees covering a variety of standard, aviation, general safety, environmental and occupational health subjects including best safety work practices
  • Assist in preforming Root Cause Analysis to support corrective action processes
  • Conducts safety audits, fire extinguisher inspections, and inspections of all first aid kits and other safety related equipment
  • Must remain calm and be the voice of reason in stressful situations
  • Must be and will be flexible and able to change directions with the needs of the work environment and take-on additional responsibilities based on operational needs
  • Conducts other tasks as identified by the Safety Manager

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations(internal and external)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Require a BA/BS in Related Field.  Relevant work experience may substitute for required education
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Aviation experience required
  • Knowledge in the technical field of aviation safety and accident prevention and experience in use of FAA, DCMA, or OSHA documentation is required
  • Experience dealing with safety and environment laws, rules, and regulations
  • OSHA 1910 – General Industry
  • OSHA – 30 hour
  • Fire Protection & AARF knowledge
  • DCMA – Instruction 8210.1
  • Ergonomics
