PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Work with world-class senior developers to improve and refine software development skills and experience
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems  that contain logical and mathematical solutions: Distributed, Concurrent, and Networking challenges, Complex Algorithmic and Mathematical logic, Intuitive User Experience development, Virtualization and Deployment Methodologies
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
  • Ensures software standards are met
  • Elicit, derive, and document software and/or system requirements to meet internal or external customer specifications
  • Define software/and or system architecture, design software modules, and produce associated documentation per corporate or customer standards
  • Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and/or hardware components
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
  • Travel to various locations to assist with system testing, attend Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and collaborate with customers and other SNC personnel

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)
  • Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such as Time Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews, Succession Planning, etc.
  • Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team training

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Requires a BS in Related Field.
  • 0-2 years of related experience
  • Experience designing and developing software
  • Experience in project definition
  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large teams
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Interest in electronics, sensor development, data/signal processing, and/or graphics

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS                       

  • Experience with modern DevOps tools and practices
  • Experience developing C++ applications
  • Experience developing and debugging network I/O intensive applications
  • Linux / Unix
  • Experience or interest in RF systems and Digital Signal Processing
  • Experience in algorithm development, implementation and analysis 
  • Automated software test Experience
  • Experience with version control and bug tracking tools
  • Experience in User Interface Development
  • Experience in HTML5, TypeScript / JavaScript        
  • Experience with Matlab for behavior modeling, simulation, and/or test data analysis 
  • Experience optimizing code for specific hardware characteristics
  • Scripting using Python, Perl, POSIX or BASH
  • Database Design and SQL or NoSQL
  • Secure coding Experience
