Perimeter Surveillance Radar

SNC’s MMW radar provides perimeter surveillance for protection of high value assets such as dams, factories, encampments, runways, waterways and docks, by building on our unique scanning antennas. 

Capabilities include:

  • Detects moving humans, vehicles, boats, UAVs approaching at a distance sufficient for warning
    • Demonstrated swimmer detection at 950 m
    • Demonstrated small boat detection  at 2 km
  • Performs target detection, tracking and automatic warning of potential threats
  • All-weather, smoke, day/night operation
  • Low false alarm (nuisance) rate
  • Radar can provide constant 360 degree coverage
  • Geo-locates intruders and provides location on local area maps
  • Cues EO/IR sensors to intruder's location
  • Real-time communication to a facility responsible for perimeter security
    • Line of sight and beyond line of site communication available
    • Mesh enabled hand held computers available for local first responders
  • Several configuration options are possible:
    • Collocated or separate sensor locations
    • Portable - tripod mounted for both radar and EO/IR camera
    • Semi permanent/transportable – can be quickly set up and removed
    • Permanent site installation
