Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Networks (C4N)

Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Networks (C4N) is a leading provider of tactical wireless communications system solutions for DOD, U.S. Governmental agencies, and select foreign military entities. C4N is universally recognized for its rapid-prototyping, rapid deployment capability utilizing a combination of advanced technology research and development and COTS systems. C4Ns systems provide solutions to the most pressing communication and networking challenges. C4N specializes in the design, development, integration, production, training, and life-cycle management of mobile mounted-dismounted / tactical / vehicular / shipboard / and airborne networks, platforms, and equipment. At the heart of the C4N offering is a modular wireless networked system that uses state-of-the-art ruggedized computers, communications, and global positioning technologies to effectively link the mounted and dismounted warfighter.

C4N specializes in a high performance, ruggedized tactically networked family of products, including; hand-held computing devices, network access point/routers, encryption key management systems, trusted (Type 1) computing devices, micro computing devices, display devices, video input elements, and supporting accessories.

C4N has developed and deployed TACTI-NET™, a state of the art wireless battlefield expeditionary mesh network used by both mounted and dismounted Warfighters.  TACTI-NET  is a mobile ad-hoc network that is both self-forming and self-healing requiring little or no in-theater infrastructure or support.   Tacticomp™ computers (handheld T-1.5, dismountableT-5 and mounted T-6), Versatile Access Point (VAP) routers, comprise nodal elements of the TACTI-NET system. Tacticomp computers provide several distinct advantages that no other soldier system currently possesses. Our system allows the soldier to send streaming video of everything he observes. It also enables the soldier to view video feeds from Unmanned Air and Ground Systems, surveillance aerostat platforms, the Army’s One System Remote Video Terminal (OSRVT) and other video-oriented systems in theater. Beside video, chat, VOIP, and text messaging, the system provides situational awareness (SA); allowing soldiers to see the location of blue (friendly) forces in the area of operation with a very fast refresh rate. Each soldier using the system is represented by an icon on the system map. It also supplies maps and imagery, allowing leaders to change graphics based on mission requirements.

In response to changing tactical security and small form factor (miniaturization) requirements, C4N has developed, tested, and is currently undergoing final steps to NSA certification for their new Type 1 (trusted) computer products; Trusted Hand-held and Trusted Tablet computers. C4N will be deploying its WiZRD™ Smart Phone in mid-2010. The WiZRD is a key element of C4N's eXpeditionary Network (X-Net) architecture, providing over the air interoperability between Smartphones (ad hoc), cell towers, airborne, and space platforms. This network device approximates the size/weight of today's commercial smart phones.

A mainstay in the C4N product line is the Simple Key Loader (SKL). This ruggedized Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) is currently being used by all branches of the military for uploading cryptographic data. Future versions of the SKL will feature wireless connectivity, miniaturization, and will be KMI-Aware.
