SNC Awarded One of the Best Places to Work by Our Employees

Sparks, Nevada – April 30, 2009 – Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) President, Eren Ozmen, is pleased to announce that SNC was one of the top 2 companies out of 56 finalists that can credit stellar employee survey results for catapulting them to the ranks of one of the best employers in the  Greater Reno-Tahoe “Best Places to Work” awards held today. SNC was honored in the large employer category, at a “Best Places to Work” Awards reception hosted by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association (NNHRA) and the Reno-Gazette Journal.

Large Company Winners:
1st: Microsoft Licensing, GP
2nd: SIERRA NEVADA CORPORATION

Winners were determined solely on overall scores from employee satisfaction surveys. The anonymous employee surveys focused on ten criteria of a satisfying work environment including: team effectiveness, trust with coworkers, manager effectiveness, feeling valued and people practices, among others. Quantum Workplace, a contracted specialist in measuring workplace satisfaction, administered the “Best Places to Work” awards program through the use of its proprietary survey methodology and software.

“What makes the ‘Best Places to Work’ awards unique is that winners are determined strictly based on the collective feedback of employees, not the subjective opinion of a group of experts,” said Greg Harris, president, Quantum Workplace. Nearly 120 companies were nominated for the “Best Places to Work” awards. The nomination process was open to all companies in the Greater Reno-Tahoe region. Nominated companies employee’s completed confidential online surveys and a diverse group of 56 employers were determined finalists based on the employee surveys.
