SNC Awarded Spiral 3.1 Dismounted CREW System Development Contract

Sparks, Nevada – December 2007 – Sierra Nevada Corporation announces it’s EW/RI Business Area has been awarded one of the Spiral 3.1 Dismounted CREW Systems development contracts in response to a competitive RFP from the US Navy. SNC was one of thirteen competitors for this program.

SNC’s EW/RI Thor III solution for the CREW 3.1 program is a man-portable system which provides our combat troops the latest electronic technology to defeat the threats presented by Remote Control Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIED). The $9.1 million award will cover further developmental efforts of SNC’s Thor product leading to a full production program opportunity in early FY 2009.

SNC Thor III is the latest in a series of programs building on the legacy of electronic warfare technology developed by SNC EW/RI. SNC is currently supporting a variety of customers with SNC developed RCIED jammer systems fielded in US Central Command Area of Operations. The SNC Thor III Program will be managed from SNC’s EW/RI Business Area in Rancho Cordova, California.
