SNC Awarded $8.2M Contract for AN/APN-245 ACLS Beacons Sparks, NV – September 30, 2008 -- Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) announced today that it has received an $8.2M contract from the US Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) to produce the AN/APN-245 ACLS Beacon. The ACLS Beacon is the airborne component of the AN/SPN-46 Automatic Carrier Landing System. It provides a point source on the aircraft that is necessary to achieve the tracking accuracy required for automatic landings aboard a carrier.
