Firescout Lands At Sea Using SNC’s UCARS-V2!
Sparks, Nevada – 19 January 2006 – The Sierra Nevada Corporation announced today that its UAV Common Automatic Recovery System Version 2 (UCARS-V2) assisted the Firescout VTUAV perform its first ever shipboard landings. The Firescout made a total of nine landings on the USS Nashville over a two day period with the UCARS-V2 providing precise positioning information for each landing. SNC UAV landing systems have completed over 20,000 autonomous UAV landings in land and sea environments. SNC is proud to be on the US Navy and Northrop Grumman Firescout VTUAV Shipboard Landing Team.
